Merrill Bohmbach, ACMHC - Therapist

Merrill (she/her) believes in the therapeutic relationship as the agent of change because relationships are often where our wounds originate. She uses elements of psychodynamic and attachment theories, emphasizing the importance of past experiences in shaping our present world. In therapy, she provides a non-judgemental and empathetic space where clients can explore their thoughts and emotions with depth, insight, and compassion to facilitate growth. Merrill uses play therapy with an attachment-based approach, creating a nurturing space where children can express and process their inner world. She stresses the significance of caregiver involvement to create a healthy attachment and long-term healing of the family system.

Merrill completed her post-graduate degree at Westminster College, where she earned her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She comes to RMC having worked with children, teens, adults, and families who have experienced developmental and attachment trauma in outpatient and residential settings.

Sarah Jensen is Merrill’s clinical supervisor.
