Sarah Jensen, LCMHC, RPT™ - Supervisor, Therapist
Sarah (she/her) believes in every individual’s ability to move towards connection with themselves and the world through relationship and play, especially when there is an understanding of how our brains work. Through play, Sarah creates a space for children to meet their inner world, and in that space, children and families can address the context in which their symptoms and adaptations have made sense. By using her special interests as a bridge, Sarah gets to know children's inner world in their own language. She uses a neurodiversity-affirming lens and views differences as natural variations in human neurobiology. Sarah is a Registered Play Therapist™ and integrates Child-Centered Play Therapy, Gestalt, and EMDR, as well as her special interests in the wilderness, poetry, music, art, and the brain.
Prior to becoming a therapist, Sarah worked at a youth shelter, as a guide at a wilderness therapy program, and at a treatment center for teens. As a counselor, Sarah has worked with children, adolescents, and adults, in outpatient practices while continually learning about the power of play.
