Maddie Carsman, LCSW - Assistant Clinical Director, Supervisor, Therapist

Maddie (she/her) understands that we are all innately resilient and possess the strengths we need to overcome obstacles, and sometimes we just need a little help tapping into those. Maddie has worked for years helping people achieve this, and she comes to RMC with extensive experience working in substance abuse residential treatment, crisis intervention services, and outpatient counseling. Maddie practices from a humanistic perspective, meaning she recognizes the strengths and inherent value of all humans, and she strives to make therapy a safe space for all where everyone can be met with warmth and unconditional support. She utilizes a variety of interventions and frequently pulls from Mindfulness-based interventions, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, all while allowing the client to set the pace and tone of sessions. Maddie is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). She received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s of Social Work degrees from the University of Utah. She enjoys working with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, grief, and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. She originally hails from Portland, Oregon, and has lived in Utah for six years. In her off-time you can likely find her enjoying the sunshine, doting on her cat Lamar, or exploring this beautiful state of ours.
