Karolanne Carter, LCMHC, NCC, RPT™ - Therapist

Karolanne (she/her) has a passion for helping children, teens, and their families successfully navigate life challenges and learn to thrive through play. Karolanne uses a neurodiversity-affirming lens and play therapy modalities to create a safe space where children can express and process their inner world. With a focus on developing self-compassion and resiliency, she works collaboratively with her clients to identify strengths and helps children and teens brainstorm creative solutions on their own, cope with challenging situations, effectively communicate with adults and peers, and learn to regulate their emotions. She strives to provide a non-judgmental and empathetic space, where her clients can explore their thoughts and emotions with insight and compassion to facilitate growth.

Karolanne is certified in Child Centered Play Therapy and Autplay Therapy and integrates other therapy models including Filial Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Sand Tray Therapy into her work with clients, depending on what best aligns with her client’s goals. She is passionate about working with children and their families to find more helpful ways to navigate life.

Karolanne is originally from Ohio and obtained her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Bowling Green State University. Karolanne received her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Messiah University. In her free time, Karolanne enjoys playing boardgames, knitting, “geeking out” on fandoms such as Star Wars, Doctor Who, and Harry Potter, and exploring the Wasatch Mountains through hiking, camping and snowboarding.
