Dena Laursen - Therapist Intern

Dena (she/her) is currently pursuing her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Saybrook University.

With a background in the health and fitness industry, Dena was inspired to transition into mental health counseling, where she could combine her knowledge of the body with the mental and emotional dimensions of health and well-being. Dena believes that profound healing can happen when we tune into and connect with the body’s inherent power and wisdom.

Practicing from a person-centered orientation, she is committed to providing each client with a safe, non-judgmental space to explore and embrace their true, authentic self. Dena incorporates somatic-based techniques and Internal Family Systems (IFS) into her work with clients.

In her free time, Dena loves movement of all kinds, being outside in sunshine and nature, and listening to podcasts.
